Does Benadryl help break outs?

Tags: , , 8 Comments

Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) is used to relieve red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, or the common cold. It doesn’t help breakouts. Any comments?

Benedryl sux, try taking him to a pediatric dermatologist as soon as possible (your poor son is probably crazy itchy). Theyll probably give him a shot which will immediately soothe the itch and his hives. Dont use any products on him with fragrance and start using tide detergent. For a serious rash, moisturizing with Aquaphor or Vaseline petroleum jelly is best. For moderate rash, a thick cream, such as Eucerine, will be sufficient. Ive also heard of bathing them in oatmeal (not sure if that works). Unfortunately, most people dont grow out of it but with the right prevention, you can keep it from coming back often.
