Im so sorry. I too have bipolar and adhd. I take a bunch of meds. My doctor tried everything to reduce my anxitey, and nothing worked. Finally they gave me xanax and wow. I have been on xanax for three years. I have never taken even a sliver extra or took any early. I never tried to get a script early. I have no problem. It helps TREMENDOUSLY. I also take flonase and allegra for my allergies. I get them bad. The meds dont even last a full day because I wake up with a stuffed running nose, watery eyes, and itchy throat everyday. Once I take my meds, I feel better within an hour. I am not a fan of docs who let their patients suffer because of anxiety meds. If you need them, then you need them. U should ask about Clozopam (sp*). Its Klonopin, and it works like xanax but it lasts much much longer. U could take like .50mg AM and PM. That would help, but nooooooo. Lets try a bunch of depression meds and crap that they know wont work. Plus 90% of the time doctors look at anyone asking for xanas as a drug seeker. Its pathetic. Find a new doctor. Keep trying. Idk what state your in, but there must be free insurance somewhere. U gotta do the leg work. I do counseling too, twice a month. It helps to vent. But the meds are amazing. I dont get high. I get normal. I cant function without it. Im on disability because of it. Ive had panic attacks so bad that the ambulance had to come. Now does that sound normal?? Doc wont give meds to help anxiety, so I have an attack and need an ambulance. Sounds like it costs the taxpayers more?? Theyd be better off prescribing the damn xanax. Another med that might work, but prob not is buspar. Ask about that. Its not addictive. Good luck hun. I feel your pain. I really hope you get what you need. Drop me a line if you need any advice. TTYL
