2 yrs ago I started feeling effects that began to frighten me as well when I would smoke. Before it started happening though, I was a avid smoker smoking on and off more or less through the years since I was 18. Im 34 now. I began feeling a pressure sensation under my left ribs that would bulge out. The pressure sensations would make me feel very terrible to the point to where I would start getting paranoid about having a heart attack or stroke. I started to research on what these very uncomfortable feelings could be. I would feel a pressure pain under my ribs. I could feel tingling sensations in my arms and on the side of my head. I could feel my blood pumping on the side of my head pulsating and numbing feelings fluctuating from one side of my body to the next side ever so often. It got to the point to where I thought I could be actually having a stroke or heart attack. People I talked to about my symptoms attributed it to having gas. Well, since then, I havent smoked anymore eigther mainly because of the negative effects I incurred from testing positive for a random drug test. Employers are predjudice towards that so Im extra careful in explaining why my employment ended with that particuliar employer. Secondly because of the pysiological after effects. Now even though I dont smoke anymore, I still suffer from those pysiological effects. Mainly the bulge and pressure feelings but its definitely not a amplified feeling id feel after smoking. Im too still perplexed by what it could be that made me feel that way?? I guess Im just going to have to demand a more thorough examination when I can find the time. I would suggest you do the same. If any doctors happen to come across your question though and give explanation to yours and my symptoms, that would be good to to review.
