Can somas help you sleep?

Tags: , 8 Comments

Soma is not a sleep aid. It’s a muscle relaxer that works that works by blocking pain sensations between the nerves and the brain. May be habit forming. Should never be given to anyone with a history of drug abuse or addiction. ! Any comments?

Apr 12, 2009 Do not use Soma if you are allergic to carisoprodol or meprobamate (Equanil, Miltown), Withdrawal symptoms include stomach pain, sleep problems, headache, Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Ibuprofen should work fine for the pain. I do suggest you be honest with your doctor about this, but if you cant, just tell him that you do not take any narcotics for personal reasons. The doctor may be able to figure it out on his own or not. Either way, it will let them know you do not want any of the strong pain killers they normally prescribe. Truthfully speaking, I have had multiple surgeries including dental throughout my life and I think the narcotic pain relievers are often times over rated. There have been many times that just tylenol or ibuprofen worked just as well if not better than drugs like Vicoden. Keep up the good work in staying clean. You are so young to have been through so much. Its good you understand your addiction and know what is necessary for you to do to remain clean.
