How long do the effects from suboxone last?

Tags: , , 8 Comments

Suboxone is a prescription medication indicated for the treatment of addiction to opioid or opiate drugs. Buprenorphine.com, a non-profit division of the U.S. National Institutes of health, states that Suboxone has a half-life of 24-60 hours. This means that the drug has the potential to control opioid cravings over that time span. Thanks! Any comments?

Suboxone was easy to transition to for my spouse….But do not stay on suboxone for years like he did….You need to think of this as temporary and ween down to stop using opiates completely. Suboxone is an opiate that if used for years can lead to severe gastrointestinal issues like any other opiate. Make a plan to taper down and stick to it. Good luck to you.
