How many hours can you work as a 15 year old?

Hours worked by 14 and 15-year-olds are limited to: non-school hours; 3 hours in a school day; 18 hours in a school week; 8 hours on a non-school day; 40 hours on a non-school week; and hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (except from June 1 through Labor Day, when evening hours are extended to 9 p.m.).     How many hours can a 16-year-old work in a week if he is still in school? Youth 14 and 15 years old enrolled in an approved Work Experience and Usually you wont get that many hours, and you cant work past 10 on a school night.

    It really depends what kind of job you get if youre qualified but I would take any you can get with our economy/etc. I got a job at 16-17-ish and legally with school I could only work about 20 hours or 25 with parental permission from what I understood. So I worked weekends mostly, to get used to working and I still had time to spend with my friends, got to still do school, and my coworkers and boss got to know me and my work ethics. Once I turned 18 they really liked me so I got more hours. If I were you Id start out with 20-25, it really gives you a perception on how much you like work, how you can manage your time with your schedule and how many hours you can work. If they like you and youre allowed to work more hours and you think you can handle it, you can always talk to your boss! Just start out easy to see how it is and work your way up.

    This is decided state by state, in the State of Oregon you can work no more than 40 hours a week and not past midnight at 15.
