Skin allergies and itchiness are the most difficult things to diagnose and solve. I know all about it, I have chronic hives. Been dealing with them since the birth of my last child 10 months ago. Itching will always be worse at night, thats a given. What I have found to work to alleviate itch is to take a lukewarm colloidal oatmeal bath before bed. It helps me sleep and keeps the itches away long enough for me to get some rest. Also, as hard as it may be, do NOT scratch. It releases histamine and makes everything worse. You scratch an itch in one place and it will flare an itch in another area, eventually causing a full blown attack all over your body. Ice the areas that itch. Be careful not to leave the ice on the skin too long and always wrap the ice in a cloth or use some other barrier as to not put it directly onto the skin which can cause further damage in the way of frostbite. I also have used Aveeno anti-itch lotion and that works pretty good too as an emergency measure. I know I havent offered any solutions, only things to help alleviate your symptoms but itch is a difficult thing to cure and it can be chronic as in lasting years. It can simply one day just disappear as quickly as it came also. I know how rough it can be. It sucks and theres not much more to say about it than that. Good luck and I hope you get some relief. :)
