  2. Mitsue says:

With all birth control, it takes about 3 months for your body to get used to the synthetic hormones inserted to your body. In particular, the depo shot, within 3 shots, you can completely have no period. Obviously, every womans body is different, but I have heard of many cases that woman can have spotting to bleeding the entire time. It is not irregular to not get your period at all. The only reason for woman to have menstrual cycle is for reproduction aka having a baby. Without our menstrual cycle, we wont have much of humanity today. Also if you are in extreme sports such as gymnastics and also very skinny, it is normal to have irregular periods to no period at all.No birth control is a 100% effective unless your partner has a vasectomy or you get your tubes tied. Chances are that the people who got pregnant on the pill either missed a pill or didnt take the pill at the exact time everyday. But then again, all birth control are not 100% effective. There are many different forms of birth control from the patch to the female condom. The best thing is to go to your doctor or ask information from your local Planned Parenthood. Also if you decide to keep with the depo shot, make sure you have intake a little bit more calcium since the shot can make you have a loss of bone density.
